Signs Your HVAC System Needs Servicing

If you see the sky turn gray with big, dark clouds you could indicate that rain is soon to fall. Just as there are signs that a rainstorm is coming there are signs that your HVAC system needs servicing. For example, one common sign that your system may need attention is if it’s making strange noises. It is important to recognize that AC units are supposed to be silent, bringing little to no disruption. If you notice a grinding, screechy, or even clapping noise that leads to your system, it’s best to get your unit inspected. Unusual sounds are an obvious warning sign that you should call a professional for diagnosis. These sounds could be derived from loose parts within your system, poor ductwork, or even having components that are misaligned. But to know for sure and to have immediate solutions you should conduct a service call sooner rather than later.

Additionally, if you happen to feel drops of water hit your shoulder from above and find that it’s coming from your AC vent or grill, it may be time to call a professional. Excessive leaking from your vent should not be overlooked; it’s another sign that your unit should have preventative maintenance conducted. The potential causes of the leaking can vary from an air filter that needs to be replaced, a clogged condensate drain line, or even a damaged drain pan. Failure to acknowledge this warning sign could result in mold growth, water damage, and other damage to your system.

Another sign your HVAC system needs maintenance is uneven temperatures throughout your home. Having uneven temperatures is when only certain parts of the house reach a set temperature while others don’t. An easy solution to this problem could be to switch the thermostat from “Auto” to “On”. However, if that doesn’t bring about a change then your system may need professional attention. Causes for uneven temperatures could be clogged condensate lines, poor insulation, motor blower issues, and more. These complications are best resolved with repairments conducted by experienced technicians. At Air Integrity HVAC there will always be experienced technicians available to help customers who see warning signs such as these or others.
