Is Your Home Air Quality at its Best?

Your home’s indoor air quality (IAQ) refers to the conditions of the air inside of a space, including both comfort factors and safety levels. Having poor air quality can lead to an array of health conditions. Common health effects of inadequate IAQ involve fatigue, dizziness, and nausea. These health complications can also become respiratory, leading to shortness of breath, a runny nose, and other difficulties with breathing. It is imperative to monitor a healthy IAQ within your home, especially in peak seasons such as summer. And there happen to be three effortless ways to detect if your IAQ needs improvement.

For example, a starting sign of an unhealthy IAQ is extremely high or extremely low humidity levels within your home. If you can tangibly feel that the air is heavy, muggy, or extremely dry, then you should have your IAQ checked. The results of unsatisfactory humidity levels can include mold growth and irritated nasal passages. Furthermore, if you notice a musty odor within your home, mold might be producing from poor air quality. If mold is left long enough, it can release bacteria called spores into the atmosphere. And another signal of poor air quality is collective dust within a home. If dust becomes noticeably visible in a home, this can also mean that the air quality indoors is not at a healthy level.

Some easy solutions to regulate comfortable home air quality include simple actions such as ventilating while cooking, opening your windows, and obtaining an air filtration system. Air purifiers, such as the Air Scrubber, work to eliminate toxins within a home at a rapid rate. Some of these purifiers can even alert you when your IAQ is not at the appropriate level. And of course, making sure your AC system is functioning properly will help to keep IAQ levels healthy. Checking filters, controlling room temperature, and preventing high humidity in your home are all measures you can take to improve air quality.

If you think your air quality needs improvement, we can assist you in choosing and installing the right air purifier for your home. Air Integrity HVAC will always have certified technicians to help you keep your home at a comfortable temperature, so do not hesitate…call us today!
